Terms of Service.
Last updated 2026-06-12
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of sqlfmt (the “service”). By using the service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
sqlfmt is a tool that formats and validates SQL and suggests corrections for misspelled keywords across several database dialects. Core formatting and validation run in your browser and are available without an account.
Accounts
Some features (such as saving snippets and history) require an account, created by signing in through a supported provider. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure. You must provide accurate information and be able to form a binding contract to create an account.
Plans and acceptable use
The free plan includes daily usage limits; the Pro plan removes those limits and adds additional features. You agree not to:
- abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service or circumvent usage limits;
- access the service through automated means in a way that degrades it for others;
- use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.
Subscriptions and billing
Pro is a recurring subscription billed through PayPal. By subscribing you authorize the recurring charge until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current paid period. Cancellation and refund details are described in Refunds & Cancellation.
Intellectual property
sqlfmt and its branding, design, and software are owned by us. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you. The SQL and content you enter remain yours.
Disclaimer of warranties
The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that formatting or validation output is correct, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. Always review SQL before running it against a production database.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, sqlfmt is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service and its users.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the applicable jurisdiction where the service is operated.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
